The 6 metals that can make up your wedding rings

You're looking for the perfect wedding rings that can endure daily wear without concerns?. However, you're not an expert in jewelry, and you'd like some advice before spending a substantial portion of your wedding budget. That's why today, we've decided to tell you more about the metals we use to make our jewelry. So, by the end of this article, you'll have discovered the metal that suits you best.

Gold: This is obviously the best-known and most prized metal among future brides and grooms. It's important to understand that the gold wedding ring you'll wear on your finger on your wedding day is actually a mixture of different metals. Pure gold is too malleable to be worked. It must therefore be combined with other metals to be worn as jewelry. As for color, we find yellow gold, rose gold and white gold, depending on the alloy with which it is combined. We have separate articles about gold colors on our blog. Please note that our wedding rings are made of 750 gold, the grade that contains the highest proportion of gold (75%) and is validated by the Tête d'aigle hallmark.

Silver: This is the second most widely used metal in the jewelry world. It is much more affordable than other metals. Like gold, it is alloyed with another metal (usually copper) to increase its strength and solidity. Our wedding rings are made of 925 silver, which is almost pure silver. Finally, when it comes to color, our silver wedding rings are all rhodium-plated. This means they retain their white color over time.

Platinum: The most expensive of all precious metals. This is due to its rarity: if you put all the earth's platinum resources in an Olympic-size swimming pool, they would be less than a man's ankle. Platinum is highly resistant to wear and tear. A platinum ring is a symbol of eternal wealth, as it never wears out and remains the same weight. Shocks over time will only displace the platinum atoms, but there won't be any loss of metal. Platinum never loses its magnificent white color, as this is its natural hue. An eternal message is ideal for a wedding ring.

Palladium: This metal is a member of the platinum family and is also naturally white in color. It requires no plating and is highly resistant. This metal has been trending in the jewelry sector for some years now.

Titanium: This silvery-grey metal has an iridescent sheen. It is a metal that is both light and strong (which is used for these reasons in the aerospace industry). It is also often used for its anti-allergic properties, making it suitable for sensitive skin. Its resistance remains one of its strong points.

Vermeil: Made of silver and covered with a yellow or white gold plating. It can therefore be defined as gold-plated silver jewelry. It is very similar to gold jewelry, much less expensive. This metal is resistant to shocks and scratches, and requires little maintenance.

Now it's up to you to decide!
